Commodore SVZ (Special VZ)

COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

Following the highly successful Limited Edition Lumina late last year, Holden have again jumped their competitors with new value added Commodore SVZ.

Based on the VZ Commodore Executive with the advanced new 172kW Alloytec engine, the special edition SVZ automatics includes sports suspension, larger 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler (sedan only) and a host of exterior highlights including body colour mirrors, rear deck spoiler, Berlina style front facia with fog lamps, chrome exhaust tip, optional rear park assist on sedans and wagon roof racks.

Interior appointments include new seat and door trim; leather steering wheel, gear selector and handbrake handle; six-disc in-dash CD and power windows all 'round.

Australia’s favourite car will be stacked with $6000 extra value and a sportier edge with the new Commodore SVZ special edition sedan and wagon.

Due to hit showrooms in April, SVZ offers refined sports styling and outstanding value from $32,990 for the sedan and from $34,990 for the wagon – drive away.

Based on the best-selling Executive model, the SVZ editions will provide a range of features and options setting them apart from the crowd.

Popular additions such as 17-inch alloy wheels (steel spare), air conditioning, rear power windows, 6-disc in dash CD player and rear spoiler (sedan only) will become standard.

Both models feature a Berlina-style front fascia with fog lamps, adding an extra touch of styling class for buyers.

Holden Marketing Director, John Elsworth, today said special edition Commodore SVZ sedans and wagons represented exceptional value.

“Commodore has been Australia’s top selling car for a decade and SVZ maximises bang for buck on what are already our most popular Commodore variants,” Mr Elsworth said.

“We expect SVZ to move as fast as the special SSZ and CV8-Z Monaro performance packs released last year. It’s a great chance to get into Commodore with many of the most requested options and accessories as standard.”

SVZ sedans and wagons will all be produced with the 172 kilowatt Alloytec all-alloy 3.6L V6 engine and four-speed automatic transmission.

Seven colors will be offered - Quicksilver metallic, Odyssey metallic (dark mercury silver), Shanghai mica (mid red), Glaze mica (blue silver), Impulse mica (blue), Heron White and Phantom Mica (black).

Re: 27th March 2006 - COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

I saw the Wagon at the Clipsal 500, and it caught my eye immediately.
Quite a nice looking car, and quite a step up from an Executive Wagon.
Re: 27th March 2006 - COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

Just went to GM Holden media website and had a look at the picture of it, it looks really good. It seems to have alot of extras that are worth a look.

Should sell, hopefully!

Re: 27th March 2006 - COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

looks damn hot, the front foggies set it off nicely.
not a bad way to go.

Re: 27th March 2006 - COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

Whats the address so I can see the pics

Re: 27th March 2006 - COMMODORE SVZ SPECIAL EDITION

I think they should have called it a lumina/equipe whatever - it doesn't have FE2 or high output engine so how does it have a sporty edge? it only has appearance items and in my opinion devalues the 'SV' badge

Go to the Holden website, then roll over "Corporate Info", then click on "Media Information". The computer will open a new window which is the GM Media site. Then click on the SVZ article and there is a picture.
